On November 25th, 2018, our international students visited the Liling Porcelain Valley, Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, one of the important sites of Huxiang Culture, to experience the peak of oriental ceramic art and enjoy the unique charm of the representative works of Liling underglaze colors.
The Liling Porcelain Valley, which is composed of 11 international buildings including the International Ceramics Exhibition Center, the Liling Porcelain Valley Art Museum and the Liling Ceramic Museum, is the largest art building complex in China's ceramic industry.
In order to make the international students in HUNAU better understand the essence of Huxiang culture, the university arranged a trip to the international students of Liling Porcelain Valley. Walking into the Porcelain Valley, the international students are all impressed by its unique architecture. The architectural appearance of the porcelain valley is shaped like ceramic wares, or like cups, or like jars, scattered here and there, forming a chic and vivid porcelain world. In the Ceramics Museum the international students were enraptured by the famous ceramics of the dynasties in China. Marika, an international student from Kazakhstan, said: “an ordinary mud, after being drew, painted, glazed, roasted, has become an exquisite porcelain, ‘color like jade, sound like a qìng’, so amazing!” In the antique ceramic market, international students are full of curiosity about various ceramic products, and bought a lot of portable small items as gifts to relatives and friends after returning home.
The visit has enabled our international students to further understand the connotation of Hunan culture, and to make the story of Hunan and the story of HUNAU further to the world.
